For being such a little word, saying “no” can be one of the hardest things to say..

From the fear of disappointing others, guilt, or not being the “go to” person for everyone- saying “no” is actually what we need to do so that we can have the lives that we say we want.

3 ways to clearly say “No” guilt free.

1. Redirect

The most gentle approach, the redirect is offering a completely new idea or solution. You don’t actually have to say “no.”

2. Because

By adding a “because” to your “no” you aren’t justifying your decision. You are guaranteeing that the person understands why you are saying “no.”

3. No.

Just a plain, simple “No.” When you know why you do what you do, saying “no” becomes a guilt free experience.

As with everything good in life, it takes time and practice. So get to work.
